Customer Testimonials
Our move process went very smoothly mostly. Dennis was great to work with. He worked on the price for us and we enjoyed doing business with him. Taylor moving on the Colorado end of the move was great as well. They were very helpful and all nice guys. LVV Services (I believe thats the name of the company that did the interstate leg) was great as well and the driver was very nice. I was not too happy however with the crew that did the unload on the Tennessee end - Sol crew, I believe. The guys we re polite enough, but I didnt love the way they handled our things. It seemed hasty and without the care that I would expect. On the property there is a detached garage where most of the boxes were going to go, while some of them, plus all of the furniture and bigger items would be going into the house. I told the crew that boxes were labeled storage or where they were going in the house. I said it several times, but I think when they heard they were moving things into a storage unit, they got e xcited for an easy move, and just started going without looking at labels on the boxes at all. For other items, even if they asked me or if I was directing them, things did not end up where they needed to. My wife and I spent a few days taking boxes and other larger items from storage to the house and vice-versa because they didnt check anything. It ended up being a ton of extra work for us! On top of that, they did not seem to be careful with any of the boxes. They just stacked whatever whereve r, and were running up and down the ramp, throwing boxes around to each other - I understand hustle, but there is a right and wrong way to do it, especially when a customer is watching. Many boxes ended up crushed on the bottom of stacks that shouldve been on the top, etc etc. Ive not been through every box to see the extent of any damage since many are in storage, but I will in coming weeks.
There was a dust up between the crew leader and one of his guys that was very unprofessional. It seeme d like they hadnt worked together a ton, and the crew leader was very apologetic about it so I dont hold that too much against them, it just wasnt a great look.
They seemed frustrated when I told them that they were supposed to set up the furniture in the home. Nothing was too much of an issue except our sons bunk bed. I understand some of these pieces can be complicated and they dont have instructions, but I basically had to go in after them, take the whole thing apart, and put it back togeth er correctly. It was entirely loose (no way I was going to let my kids sleep on it!), pieces were switched around - it was a mess. In one place where two pieces of wood butt up together, there are wooden pegs that go in between to hold the pieces together. I guess they couldnt find the small pegs that fit the piece (when I was watching here and there I saw them wrapped up on the ground). Instead that butt joint was very loose and not structurally secure at all. When I took it apart I found
Our move was an interstate, 1200 mile journey so we were concerned about the details. But Harry is a stickler for details and what he promised and quoted is what we paid. He supervised the packing of our five flat-screen TV's - a 78", a 65", a 54", 52" and a 42" - with his warehouse supervisor. Each was delivered in perfect condition. In addition, all of the furniture from our 3300 SF home was packed meticulously and cared for by the loading crew, which was run by Trey, a multi-decade semi d river. The delivery date promised by Harry was kept to the minute by Trey, a moving veteran professional from Texas. So far so good - 5 stars.
Trey drove up to our new home at 8:00 AM, on time. But the unloading crew in Kansas was less than stellar, due to an issue with the labor company recommended to Trey by the moving industry, Trey had never offloaded in Wichita so this was a new crew for him to supervise. Starting a 9:00 with two men, it took four more hours to assemble a full cr ew of five so unloading was slow. Not Trey's fault since crews are reserved weeks in advance so he assembled what crews were available. That said, all of our furniture was unpacked and in perfect shape (loading crew) but the unloading crew did not assemble several furniture items and frankly I wanted them to leave as it was late in the day. To their credit, not one wall was damaged or scuffed, which was great since we JUST had the house painted two weeks earlier. Plus it is a two-story home making it tedious to unload everything quickly including several items of exercise equipment to the basement. The 4 star success was due to a veteran crew member who was NOT scheduled that day but showed up anyway (his WIFE has just passed away and yet, he STILL came - yeah he got the biggest tip). Again, not Trey's fault but, yet he still came through with a crew.
All in all, we are highly pleased with National Van Lines and I would use them again. They were quick to respond, quick to pro vide a quote, Harry is highly educational, above reproach, ALWAYS available. Most important they are economical. Trey, the semi driver who has worked with National many times also made the move successful. They both get five stars, but the unloading crew gets three.
Our items were held in storage at Jersey Shore Movers in Jackson, NJ from 9-2021 through 4-2023.
National driver was in communication with us and arrived at set time along with the two men he hired locally. Appreciated that. Guys were very careful with our things.
Unfortunately, we are missing two boxes, one of which had several of my husbands good tools.
Not sure where/when they went missing, but it certainly puts a black mark on both Jersey shore and National.
In addition, the wrap around my couch had ripped and there were several dirt marks as well as a slight tear at seam. I filled out the claim and was issued a check, but I would have preferred someone to come out here and clean, and sew the seam. Now I either have to figure it out myself or look for someone to hire. Another hassle that I don't need when I'm trying to move in and get organized.
Thank you

The movers could not negotiate our winding steep drive so they called a UHaul, downloaded from the street into a smaller truck and delivered with a positive attitude and a smile. We were more than happy with the whole moving process, start to finish. We would definitely recommend this company! Awesome service.
Jack Morgan was great and in constant communication. Frenchie, driver was great. Juan and moving out team in Simi Valley, CA were good and careful for the most part. Some members rushed through without checking about items. Team of movers in Bella Vista, AR were rough with items, packed boxes haphazardly in the storage units (home isnt built yet). Clearly, they didnt understand the concept of same sized boxes stacked on top of each other would protect each box better. That team seemed more inter ested in finishing quickly than being concerned with our property. Kept telling me how theyve been doing this a long time and know what they are doing. Total disregard for how I wanted our belongings being handled, especially a $6,000 dining table and chairs which is expensive and of value to us.
We were pleased with the bid process and the pricing for the move was very competitive. A high level of trust was established with the estimator which swung the deal to National. The driver was exceptional and worked very well with us. The workers that loaded the truck were not exceptional but got the job done. Unloading efforts were delayed a day as the truck sat in front of our house. Overall, we are very pleased as no damage was incurred and extra special care was provided our baby grand pian o. We definitely would recommend National Van Lines
We had cross country trip with two delivery stops. The local agent John Kearney in Venice Florida was fantastic and very responsive to our questions, making sure items were well wrapped and that everything was tagged properly with labels indicating which stop the item went to. Unfortunately when delivery truck arrived at first delivery it was discovered that the items were all mixed up so all the work we did in Florida to arrange things was for nothing. The Chicago delivery guys spent much tim e having to go thru items with recipient indicating which pieces went to which of the two Chicago location stops. Also while the women workign at the national office were very responsive, we were unable to connect with the driver to confirm which stop they were going to first. It ended up that they went in a different order than requested so we had to adjust to make sure a person was at the delivery locations for entire day since we werent sure where they were going first. All things were deli vered in good shape with nothing broken or missing. The end price was also quite acceptable and less than I thought for a two stop delivery from Florida to Chicago. National would have received 5 stars if not for the mixup in which items went where and the difficulties of reaching the local driver the night before to confirm delivery order. Thanks for overall great service.
The crew that came to pack my items was not professional or thorough. They were in a hurry and unorganized. They packed my books in large boxes that were nearly impossible for me to move after receiving at my new house. Cabinets and drawers were not packed. Even my silverware was left in the drawer. The crew the following day was the opposite (Alfred and Kenny) were 100% work. They were careful, considerate and polite. They finished the packing not done or not done well by the previous crew. The y included me in decisions when necessary and even explained how things were loaded in pieces sometimes to make the trip better. The 2 crews were day and night different.
I'd love to give a 5 here and had every intention until we found we'd overpaid. In the days/hours before our delivery, we paid the amount on your portal without realizing until later it had not been adjusted by the reduced storage charge. It involved many days of calls to the local NJ dealer with no results. It was not until I called your corporate HQ and spoke to Lori did we get the nearly $700 returned. Kerri could not seem to get any results in over a week while I was able to in 1 day. This was frustrating and tainted an otherwise great experience.
On to the favorable, your price was lower than the other two movers who gave estimates and we had a great connection with Adam when he estimated for your company. The movers - Rob, Kyle and the teams on both the NJ and FL ends were outstanding. They were prompt, friendly, careful and efficient. In an odd way, it was comforting having familiar faces on the receiving end. We had a good rapport with them as well.
Havin g not had a moving experience prior to this one, overall we are pleased with your company despite the snafu with the payment. While we hope to not have to move again, we would call you if we do. Thank you to Adam, Rob, Kyle and Lori.
Quick move. Had to tell the movers what was missing. They were in a huge rush to leave without getting their moving blankets and were not very willing to help me with some heavy items. Could not get the moving van into the apartment complex which caused a delay in efficiency and made their job harder.
The mover did a great job. More communication is necessary. The initial discussion with the agent said one of their teams would do the pickup and transfer it to another agent. But then on the day of the move a different agent showed up. This required me to call the initial agent to verify. Also during the move we had no communication as to when the unload would be done. And because it happened on a Saturday it was hard to get a hold of anyone when we had questions about the agent needing to do a shuttle for the unload. The agent told us we would have to pay for the shuttle, which turned out not to be the case. But it was difficult to figure that out on a Saturday. It would have been nice for the initial agent to have communicated with us regularly to make sure the move was going well.
