We had cross country trip with two delivery stops. The local agent John Kearney in Venice Florida was fantastic and very responsive to our questions, making sure items were well wrapped and that everything was tagged properly with labels indicating which stop the item went to. Unfortunately when delivery truck arrived at first delivery it was discovered that the items were all mixed up so all the work we did in Florida to arrange things was for nothing. The Chicago delivery guys spent much tim e having to go thru items with recipient indicating which pieces went to which of the two Chicago location stops. Also while the women workign at the national office were very responsive, we were unable to connect with the driver to confirm which stop they were going to first. It ended up that they went in a different order than requested so we had to adjust to make sure a person was at the delivery locations for entire day since we werent sure where they were going first. All things were deli vered in good shape with nothing broken or missing. The end price was also quite acceptable and less than I thought for a two stop delivery from Florida to Chicago. National would have received 5 stars if not for the mixup in which items went where and the difficulties of reaching the local driver the night before to confirm delivery order. The crew that came to pack my items was not professional or thorough. They were in a hurry and unorganized. They packed my books in large boxes that were nearly impossible for me to move after receiving at my new house. Cabinets and drawers were not packed. Even my silverware was left in the drawer. The crew the following day was the opposite (Alfred and Kenny) were 100% work. They were careful, considerate and polite. They finished the packing not done or not done well by the previous crew. The y included me in decisions when necessary and even explained how things were loaded in pieces sometimes to make the trip better. The 2 crews were day and night different.

I'd love to give a 5 here and had every intention until we found we'd overpaid. In the days/hours before our delivery, we paid the amount on your portal without realizing until later it had not been adjusted by the reduced storage charge. It involved many days of calls to the local NJ dealer with no results. It was not until I called your corporate HQ and spoke to Lori did we get the nearly $700 returned. Kerri could not seem to get any results in over a week while I was able to in 1 day. This was frustrating and tainted an otherwise great experience. On to the favorable, your price was lower than the other two movers who gave estimates and we had a great connection with Adam when he estimated for your company. The movers - Rob, Kyle and the teams on both the NJ and FL ends were outstanding. They were prompt, friendly, careful and efficient. In an odd way, it was comforting having familiar faces on the receiving end. We had a good rapport with them as well. Havin g not had a moving experience prior to this one, overall we are pleased with your company despite the snafu with the payment. While we hope to not have to move again, we would call you if we do. Thank you to Adam, Rob, Kyle and Lori.

Driver and office staff were excellent. The moving crew in Buffalo was the same. The crew in Houston was a little less professional and seemed in a hurry to be finished. They damaged a wall with a hand truck and seemed annoyed that we brought it up. Overall very good experience though.

Quick move. Had to tell the movers what was missing. They were in a huge rush to leave without getting their moving blankets and were not very willing to help me with some heavy items. Could not get the moving van into the apartment complex which caused a delay in efficiency and made their job harder.

The mover did a great job. More communication is necessary. The initial discussion with the agent said one of their teams would do the pickup and transfer it to another agent. But then on the day of the move a different agent showed up. This required me to call the initial agent to verify. Also during the move we had no communication as to when the unload would be done. And because it happened on a Saturday it was hard to get a hold of anyone when we had questions about the agent needing to do a shuttle for the unload. The agent told us we would have to pay for the shuttle, which turned out not to be the case. But it was difficult to figure that out on a Saturday. It would have been nice for the initial agent to have communicated with us regularly to make sure the move was going well.

Everything arrived intact and the movers were great to work with. One of the packers, though, packed up an entire room that I said they did not have to even enter. The same one then packed a lamp I had told him was not to be packed.

We moved from New Jersey to Virginia. The service was very good. Our driver RJ aimed to please and was very accommodating. We had the inventory completed by Virginia prior to the drive team coming to our home. She was professional and it really saved time for the loading. We appreciated their efficiency. We did not have a lot of cube so we had to wait 14 days for delivery. Waiting was not ideal but we managed.

We were extremely happy overall with our move. The loading crew was excellent, the driver was excellent! Unfortunately the unloading crew , may have been the worst experience we have ever had. While not directly national van lines fault, they did hire the crew. This crew did not listen put boxes for the garage that they were told and had written on the box garage, in the basement, put furniture they were told went downstairs upstairs, boxes labeled upstairs were put downstairs, shelving items th at should have been reassembled were not claiming they couldn't find the parts (we found the parts to have been well labeled but again they placed the parts all in different areas we found parts for the same shelf, upstairs some in the garage and some downstairs) it's been two weeks and we are still having to relocate boxes. My wife stayed at the truck while they unloaded and reviewed each box, and told them where it goes, in addition every box at minimum was labeled, upstairs, downstairs, garag e. So no excuse for a box that says garage or upstairs, to be downstairs. Additionally the professionalism of the crew was horrible, derogatory comments about what we had, about how it was to much stuff, we are a family of 8 and yes probably do have more stuff than we need, but your job is to unload the stuff not complain about my stuff. When the driver makes note that he has never seen such an unprofessional and horrible job done by a crew I think that says something about them. What could have been a perfect move, was unfortunately turned into a bit of a nightmare, by this unloading crew.

It was an overall good experience. However, there was some miscommunication between manager and movers. When the movers arrived for pickup, they said some stuff was misclassified. Our glass top should not be listed as mirror for example. They told us it was not our fault. Then at drop off the movers did not know they had to put together some stuff and were very surprised because it is not a usual thing to do for them. They were nice and did it. But it would be better if they were told before th at they need to do that.

We were very pleased with Tony who picked up our furnishings and delivered them to Peachtree City. He was hard working, friendly and conscientious. The workers who aided him in Venice and Peachtree City were very good. Our furnishings and boxes arrived in good shape. The only problem was that the workers who unloaded the truck in Peachtree City were told that they were only needed for 4 hours. However, the unloading took 7-8 hours and the workers claimed that they were not compensated accordingl y. I believe that the unloading took longer because there was another load on the truck and the identification of our belongings took longer than expected. Otherwise, we were pleased with our moving experience.

The move was to be made with a sub contractor,not a national van line truck.The pick up day and deliver date were adhere to.I was told that it was going to be pick up I a 53feet truck not 2 26 feet trucks.So the product that gets pick up gets handled twice and damage occurs This has occurred to my wife and my stuff.The staff on the pick up end was good and personal.The delivery service people were good also.Over service was good.Would I recommend national yes I would

I was very happy with the individuals who performed the loading in Alabama and also the unloading. Disappointed in that sufficient help was not available to assist for a couple of hours in Surgoinsville, Tennessee. I would recommend this moving company to anyone but would suggest that they ensure the individuals who were supposed to assist with the unloading and did not show up are not ever used again. I really liked both of the people who loaded and felt that they went out of their way to ensur e that it was loaded properly. I was extremely happy with the individual who drove the truck and was in charge of the unloading and felt he did a very good job.

Did not know what to expect after hearing the horrible stories about moving companies. I researched and decided to use this NVL. My furniture arrived with a few scratches. The gentleman that packed and unpacked were very professional and courteous. They worked extremely hard at their jobs. Office staff and agent were unreachable at times and calls were not returned. All that said not a horrible experience.

Move was uneventful, which is what is most desired. Driver was great and would highly recommend him to others. Driver showed up on time and completed loading fairly quickly. Driver arrived at destination on first day of the committed schedule window. No damage to anything found so far. Also no damage at home we moved from and at the new home we moved into. All in all, a great experience.
