Customer Testimonials
Overall we had our stuff come by the end of the destined period of time. Unfortunately, our stuff were not wrapped well . we ended up losing our TV screen to an inadequate wrapping. The screen was unloaded literally with no wrap whatsoever. Many boxes was re-taped. I was under the impression that they will take our stuff directly in the same van to its destination but I came to learn that they hired another company to transfer from a warehouse where our things were dumped there.
I would recomm end you do your own wrapping, and search before hiring the company. It is not worth paying a penny for insurance, because they only cover damages more than a 1 thousand dollars. If you can avoid moving across the nation with big stuff with NVL maybe safer, a shorter move may have less likelihood of missing your things. Do not rely on them wrapping or boxing. Invest in good boxes of your own.
For the most part, the service was great. However, they arrived early by about five days. I felt bad that they had to leave everything on the truck for that much time but we didnt own the house when they got to our city. And we had some things that were broken and a few things that I think may be missing but were not sure because we havent been able to dig down into all the boxes yet. Im happy with the service and very happy with Kelly at AQMS.
Our agent, Tom Vintner, was very helpful and tried to keep us updated. There were a number of delays in the shipment - driver got sick, truck broke down. When we finally received an ETA date and some information it was by calling the Customer Service office; they were most helpful. We never were able to get any information off from the NVL tracker; no information on our delivery was ever posted to this online site. In the end, the driver (Andy) was very pleasant and helpful with the delivery . All items came through in good condition.
The loading and unloading was quick and efficient. The movers were curtious and careful. The only complaint is the lack of communication when there was a delay in delivering the household goods. We all know stuff happens. It's much better to keep in contact with the customer so their plans, deadlines, life in general, can be adjusted when problems arise. Should we ever move across country again (God Forbid) we would use National Van LInes again.
Overall the move with National was smooth and as expected. The individual movers did a great
Job for only two laborers worked hard and certainly performed as expected. So far only found a few items damaged but can probably be fixed. Would use this company again and recommend them. Some mix up at the start with times and appointment times resulting in one day delay. Overall satisfied
Our move process went very smoothly mostly. Dennis was great to work with. He worked on the price for us and we enjoyed doing business with him. Taylor moving on the Colorado end of the move was great as well. They were very helpful and all nice guys. LVV Services (I believe thats the name of the company that did the interstate leg) was great as well and the driver was very nice. I was not too happy however with the crew that did the unload on the Tennessee end - Sol crew, I believe. The guys we re polite enough, but I didnt love the way they handled our things. It seemed hasty and without the care that I would expect. On the property there is a detached garage where most of the boxes were going to go, while some of them, plus all of the furniture and bigger items would be going into the house. I told the crew that boxes were labeled storage or where they were going in the house. I said it several times, but I think when they heard they were moving things into a storage unit, they got e xcited for an easy move, and just started going without looking at labels on the boxes at all. For other items, even if they asked me or if I was directing them, things did not end up where they needed to. My wife and I spent a few days taking boxes and other larger items from storage to the house and vice-versa because they didnt check anything. It ended up being a ton of extra work for us! On top of that, they did not seem to be careful with any of the boxes. They just stacked whatever whereve r, and were running up and down the ramp, throwing boxes around to each other - I understand hustle, but there is a right and wrong way to do it, especially when a customer is watching. Many boxes ended up crushed on the bottom of stacks that shouldve been on the top, etc etc. Ive not been through every box to see the extent of any damage since many are in storage, but I will in coming weeks.
There was a dust up between the crew leader and one of his guys that was very unprofessional. It seeme d like they hadnt worked together a ton, and the crew leader was very apologetic about it so I dont hold that too much against them, it just wasnt a great look.
They seemed frustrated when I told them that they were supposed to set up the furniture in the home. Nothing was too much of an issue except our sons bunk bed. I understand some of these pieces can be complicated and they dont have instructions, but I basically had to go in after them, take the whole thing apart, and put it back togeth er correctly. It was entirely loose (no way I was going to let my kids sleep on it!), pieces were switched around - it was a mess. In one place where two pieces of wood butt up together, there are wooden pegs that go in between to hold the pieces together. I guess they couldnt find the small pegs that fit the piece (when I was watching here and there I saw them wrapped up on the ground). Instead that butt joint was very loose and not structurally secure at all. When I took it apart I found
Our move was an interstate, 1200 mile journey so we were concerned about the details. But Harry is a stickler for details and what he promised and quoted is what we paid. He supervised the packing of our five flat-screen TV's - a 78", a 65", a 54", 52" and a 42" - with his warehouse supervisor. Each was delivered in perfect condition. In addition, all of the furniture from our 3300 SF home was packed meticulously and cared for by the loading crew, which was run by Trey, a multi-decade semi d river. The delivery date promised by Harry was kept to the minute by Trey, a moving veteran professional from Texas. So far so good - 5 stars.
Trey drove up to our new home at 8:00 AM, on time. But the unloading crew in Kansas was less than stellar, due to an issue with the labor company recommended to Trey by the moving industry, Trey had never offloaded in Wichita so this was a new crew for him to supervise. Starting a 9:00 with two men, it took four more hours to assemble a full cr ew of five so unloading was slow. Not Trey's fault since crews are reserved weeks in advance so he assembled what crews were available. That said, all of our furniture was unpacked and in perfect shape (loading crew) but the unloading crew did not assemble several furniture items and frankly I wanted them to leave as it was late in the day. To their credit, not one wall was damaged or scuffed, which was great since we JUST had the house painted two weeks earlier. Plus it is a two-story home making it tedious to unload everything quickly including several items of exercise equipment to the basement. The 4 star success was due to a veteran crew member who was NOT scheduled that day but showed up anyway (his WIFE has just passed away and yet, he STILL came - yeah he got the biggest tip). Again, not Trey's fault but, yet he still came through with a crew.
All in all, we are highly pleased with National Van Lines and I would use them again. They were quick to respond, quick to pro vide a quote, Harry is highly educational, above reproach, ALWAYS available. Most important they are economical. Trey, the semi driver who has worked with National many times also made the move successful. They both get five stars, but the unloading crew gets three.
I had quite a few hiccups with my move. I wanted to leave on March 27th. Was told movers would be at my place at 1 PM on Monday the 27th. When no one showed up by 1:20 I called and spoke with Mr Kim and was told he would message the Drivers. at 2 pm I received a phone call from Natalie ( I think that was her name) asking me if Wednesday the 29th at 9 am was okay for my pick up. when I asked her what happened to today, she apologized and informed me that she received an email from her manag er asking her to make these arrangements. the movers came promptly on the 29th, and had me loaded up within 3 hours then I was able to leave. (at this time i did not realize how important placing the corresponding numbers of my items onto inventory list was) By the time I arrived from Washington state to Georgia I still did not have an address and needed to place my stuff into storage. the storage facility would not accommodate a semi truck and trailer. so i reached out to my contact person L auri and she informed me that they would shuttle my stuff to the storage unit. I did not realize the people who did the shuttling was not my driver, Charles. He did however show up to the unit in his truck, the other driver, Elgin, and his 2 helpers arrived to the storage unit. The driver insisted I sign off on the inventory papers and against my better judgement I did. The driver and I ended up spending the time talking to each other and not paying attention to what was being unloaded. Whe n Elgin and his crew finished, the unit was locked up and everyone left. The next day, Charles the driver informed me that the shuttle guys did not remove everything from his trailer. He blamed the shuttle guys for not going all the way to the "load block" Needless to say I was upset. He explained that he would keep everything safe on his trailer until he came back through. About 3 weeks later Mr Elgin called me to say they would be delivering my stuff. When he and the driver showed up, Th is time it was a different driver. a new inventory sheet had been created with the items numbered according to the yellow inventory stickers. when they unloaded we checked off the items with the new inventory list.. when i could not find box 44 Mr Elgin said he saw it in another box. One of my boxes was torn open.. unfortunately i believed him. I still cannot find it. since part of this was my fault i did not rate it any lower, and 5 means perfect, this experience definitely was not perfect .
Our items were held in storage at Jersey Shore Movers in Jackson, NJ from 9-2021 through 4-2023.
National driver was in communication with us and arrived at set time along with the two men he hired locally. Appreciated that. Guys were very careful with our things.
Unfortunately, we are missing two boxes, one of which had several of my husbands good tools.
Not sure where/when they went missing, but it certainly puts a black mark on both Jersey shore and National.
In addition, the wrap around my couch had ripped and there were several dirt marks as well as a slight tear at seam. I filled out the claim and was issued a check, but I would have preferred someone to come out here and clean, and sew the seam. Now I either have to figure it out myself or look for someone to hire. Another hassle that I don't need when I'm trying to move in and get organized.
Thank you

The two brothers that handles our move were outstanding. They did a great job packing and unpacking our home items. They worked under intense weather issues and didnt complain. The trailer that they were provided was less than stellar. I was surprised that it made the trip across the country.
This was a positive move for us and the crew involved made it less stressful. We will recommend National to others if asked.
I chose National Van Lines because I was moving a considerable distance across country from a home in Idaho I have lived in 29 years to Texas and I wanted a reputable firm. Joe Kim was my representative for the moving estimate and details leading up to the actual move. He was responsive to all my inquiries in a very timely manner.
When moving day came, I was a little surprised at the size of the truck...I thought it would be bigger and was wondering how all my belongings would actually fit in. John, the mover/driver, assured me they would fit and they did. He kept in contact with me throughout the transport of my goods. He and the moving crew at the Richardson, TX destination made sure all items were placed where I wanted them. I am not finished unpacking, but I am happy to report that so far there are no damaged items!
Though the weight of my move was over the estimate, National Van Lines honored their binding estimate.
The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is be cause of the size of the moving truck. I had understood it would be bigger and actually had the trees trimmed along my driveway to accommodate a bigger truck.
