Customer Testimonials
Brian was the best! Moved 3 loads from our house to storage then onto Brandon's truck for final move to NY. Always helpful with our supplies and advice. Both crews were very careful and considerate with our belongings and our home. They all made the experience of moving 19,000 pounds a very pleasant and even enjoyable event. A HUGE THANK YOU!!Y,
Very impressed from the start. First Garttmeyer Moving & Storage, local originator was wonderful to work and very responsive especially Nina. Garttmeyer worked well within my deadlines.
The day of the packing, the Garttmeyer crew showed up and packed all fragile and larger items I was not able to do so on my own. They were very efficient. The driver, Nestor, from National Van Lines showed up on time at the conclusion of the packing and he and his crew tagged, logged and loaded my belongin gs.
I made my way to my new home state and closed on the new house and Nestor and crew showed up the next day with my load for unloading which went extremely well. As I have unpacked all of my belongings, all is intact.
I am very pleased with the results of this move from start to finish. Nestor, the driver kept in touch with me and I was aware of where my belongings were from the time they were packed until the truck arrived to unload. I also received a follow up call from Garttmeye r to check in once all of my items were unloaded.
You hear so many stories of things gone wrong with moving experiences and your life is on a truck and in someone else's possession. Mine is a story of all things that went right. I highly recommend the two companies I worked with on this move.
I would like to commend Autumn for her kindness, professionalism, attention to detail and that she was just a delight to work with. I would also like to commend my driver Crystal. She was also top notch, very nice, professional and great to work with. Thank you sooo much; even though I packed most everything and I was not sure how good I did, everything arrived in tip top condition! Thanks so much. Lourrie
Picking up the boxes/moving stuff from Minneapolis and dropping them to Reno went well in schedule. The driver, Jeremiah, was informative/efficient and dropped my stuff on time and the local movers worked hard to deliver them to my new apartment. My husband and I were satisfied. One thing I need to address is that some of my valuable candle holders and the glass of the clock were broken. We plan on claiming on that. Other than that, National Vanlines did a great work for us. Thank you, Michael and all!

Enrique, the truck driver was very nice, funny and friendly. Him and his crews were very understanding about getting or noticing the email to us regarding their arrival at the drop off location. They handled our items with care even though we have not looked through our things if any damage but hope not due to their care.
When moving across states, we knew we needed the absolute best movers to ensure a seamless, stress-free experienceand Reese and the National Van Lines team delivered perfection in every way! From the very beginning, their professionalism and attention to detail stood out. They confirmed logistics early, followed up with timely emails and reminders, and even checked in a few days before our move to ensure everything was on track.
On moving day, their team was efficient, careful, and thorough, securing all our belongings with the utmost care. They even took the time to walk through our entire home, inside and out, to ensure nothing was left behind. The unpacking process was equally exceptional. They handled everything with diligence and respect, protecting our home during the move-in process and thoughtfully asking where each item should go. Before they left, the moving team went above and beyond, walking through the house one last time to move boxes or items to their proper rooms.
This level of care and dedication made our move not just easy but genuinely enjoyable. I cannot recommend Reese and the National Van Lines team enough. They turned what could have been a stressful ordeal into a flawless, first-class experience. If you're planning a move, trust meyou want them on your team!
The experience with National was amazing. Autumn was fantastic in reviewing the items to move and sending me a quote. She helped me feel confident in choosing National to help with my move, communicated what was going to happen, which made me feel comfortable and less worried about moving across the country. The people that moved all the furniture did an amazing job packing and unpacking all my furniture. They took care of all my belongings and made sure that everything was safe, secure and wasn 't going to break. I really appreciate all the help on moving. If I ever need anything like this again, I will be sure to contact you and will be sure to recommend National Van Lines to anyone I know that needs movers too.
After calling many moving companies, I picked National Van Lines. I was really happy to deal with Tom Turner, the expert, honest, professional and helpful peron. I appreciate his effort of giving us his time and and advise. Thank you Tom. I also have a big thank for Edd and Jacob who delivered my stuff at time and without any damages. I recommend Everyone to go with National Van Lines.
After reading reviews online of various moving experiences (most of them bad), we were mentally preparing for the worst. Our experience was actually great and relatively hassle-free.
The pros:
1. We got a quote that was way cheaper than we anticipated and Joe assured us that there wouldn't be any hidden costs after we locked the rate in. And there weren't.
2. The movers were very nice and they packed everything up extremely well.
3. Our stuff arrived on time and everything was account f or and nothing was damaged.
The cons (hence the 4 stars and not the 5):
1. The date range between when our stuff was supposed to be picked up and when it would delivered was quite wide. To be fair, they were pretty up front about this before the contract was signed. I was told that they would know more close to the date of pick up but I didn't anticipate that that meant two days before the pickup. And it took a lot of calling on my part to get this information.
2. Similarly, there was littl e clarity on when our stuff would get delivered and it took a lot of calling to get this information. Because it was an 18 hour drive to our destination, we had to make hotel reservations on the way and it got a bit dicey not knowing exactly how we should time our arrival. Because of the uncertainty, we had to keep our plans flexible.
3. The movers arrived with fewer boxes than they needed and fewer than what was indicated by National Van Lines. This wasn't the movers fault or NVL's (technicall y). NVL outsources to a middle man company (who sends the movers). The middle man company apparently didn't send enough boxes with the movers. The movers had to run to UPS to try to find more boxes and they were still short. They had to leave a few (minor) things behind which we had to carry with us. Even though this was the fault of the middle man company, NVL should have coordinated this better and been on top of it.
Despite the cons, I will say that the pricing was way better than I expect ed and our stuff arrived on time and in one piece. This is more than most people can say about their moving experience. Literally, everyone I've asked says there experience was awful. All things considered, it all worked out for us so we don't have a lot of complains.
All of the people that we spoke with at NVL and it affiliates couldnt be nicer and more helpful. We had to move sooner than expected and needed to rely on friends to help as we were already out of state. Everyone at NVL was extremely helpful and wanting to make the move as stress-free as possible.
However, our items arrived there were several problems. First, a wooden sculpture was never wrapped and thus arrived damaged. It is a unique piece made especially for us and is irreplaceable le. Also, there was supposed to be a specially married box with the parts to our treadmill and elliptical; however, the box was not kept separate and so we have a delay until those pieces of equipment can be put together.
I was also told that several other items were not wrapped. As our house is still being renovated I will be unable to see all the items moved to our new house until the beginning of April. At that time I will have a better idea if there are other items not properly wrapped.
