THe move went very well, except for some damage to the large antique desk that will have to be taken care of by the insurance. BTW, repair company is taking their time in making an appointment to fix it. I think I know what happened to cause the breakage, It was in my house at packing time. I saw them prepare it, maybe I should have questioned the man, but he looked like he was doing a professional job.
This is a two part desk, very heavy. The top shelving unit comes off and the rest is the desk below it. They put the top section on top of a moving blanket on the floor. Then, one man carefully rolled it while covering it with mover's plastic on all four sides. But, there is a thin strip of antique molding all round the top so that it doesn't look like there are two pieces. That is what splintered under the plastic and was found there by the men delivering the desk.
This company was highly recommended to me, and I would still give them a good rating and use them again if I needed to do so.

Autumn Clay was instrumental in making this long distance move a success. She was flexible and accommodating as different scenarios arose, including the difficulties. She has excellent problem solving skills and her knowledge made this work.
The actual moving process resulted in many broken items including a valuable antique Waterford lamp, some Lenox China, and several MCM bedroom furniture pieces. Autumn encouraged me to file a claim however with the $500 deductible, it didnt seem worth it. I can fix the furniture, and the rest are only pieces of my past.
Had a very good experience with National Van Lines. Our move was cross country with quite a bit of high end RH furniture. I was pleasantly surprised that not a single item was lost or damaged. We did have a communication issue with the delivery dates but it worked out and they did what they could to accommodate our needs. We were very happy overall.
Josh Folkener had been used in a previous move of items to myself by my sister in law. The items had been wrapped and packed expertly, arriving in excellent condition. Due to this caring attitude I retained his name and contacted him with my distance move. Josh was very easy to work with and understanding of my sparse knowledge of the entire process. Everyone arrived exactly as scheduled, packed everything in a minimum amount of time. Unpacking went just as smoothly. I would recommend anyone v isiting with Josh if they are contemplating a move.
Ben Strength's company, AFFORDABLE QUALITY MVG.& STG. CO., INC., set me up with National Van Lines, Inc. to move me from Los Angeles, Ca. to Stratford, CT. My driver and move was Robert Smith. It was the absolute smoothest move in my 62 year life. Robert made sure my stuff was all accounted for and moved safely into its new home. Overall a great experience. On the pickup side, the guys showed up, worked carefully, quickly and respectfully. The driver was fantastic as he checked his schedule for drop-off and pickups and worked around my needs. From pickup to drop off was 2 days. The drop off was handled in the same fashion as the pickup. Happy to recommend this company to anyone.
