Everything went pretty smoothly. Brandon and the National people were right on top of things and made changes as I requested them. The truck crew worked professionally and kept to schedule. There were a few broken and missing parts, but after filing the paperwork, National gave us check with no problem.

No additional fees were added to the quote. The moving date was correct and delivery within the given timeframe. The driver was accommodating to arrange items in storage unit as requested.

It was a good move. Expensive, but apparently that's the way it is. I did have one item crack--a teapot--but otherwise, all seems okay. The moving crew was delightful. This moving experience has been so great, from Thomas to the driver and all the other helpers. Starting with Thomas, he was very helpful in every way and was always available whenever I had questions or concerns. ( I had lots of them). No time was ever the wrong time for him even when I called him and he was sick. Everything went smoothly as I was hoping it would. Thomas seemed like I had always known him. The driver was so friendly and with a smile in everything he did. Everything arrived wh en I was hoping it would ( arriving after I got here. The timing was perfect). The unloading went smoothly also. The only problem I had was with the storage company, which was NOT the movers fault , but the driver stayed with me until the problem was solved. Hopefully Im in my forever home, but if I have to move again, I would surely get in touch with Thomas. I would gladly recommend American Way. The cost was within my budget and better then the other companies I talked to. My daughter is moving here in July and she already has Thomas name to call for her move. Not knowing when the household goods were to arrive was stressful! With the amount of furniture damaged and the return did not equate! Communication between us and the moving company was unsatisfactory!

I needed to move an antique china cabinet from my late father's house in FL to my house in PA. I thought about doing it myself but didn't think I could make the drive or whether the cabinet would even fit in my car. I'm so glad I saved myself the trouble and went with National Van Lines instead. They made it so easy. The cabinet arrived in perfect condition and I didn't even have to lift a finger. Everyone I worked with was polite, professional and helpful.

Frankly, horrible experience dealing with subcontractors who filled up my downstairs living room with boxes piled to the ceiling because they didnt want to go up and down the stairs. They couldnt figure out how to take my bed apart and get it upstairs. I also have boxes missing several items no where to be found. Just a dreadful experience.

For this move I got 6 estimates, including pods and upack, as well as 4 well known majors like National. With everything factored in, the costs were all about the same. What set you apart was first, Ben Strong who was great to work with from day 1. Easy going, helpful, flexible, quick to respond to questions. Second, you are good with payment just before delivery. That flexibility was super important because a big move has many and unexpected costs. Third, you showed flexibility with big difficu lt items like a glass dining table. Other movers would have required us to crate that and other items, greatly increasing costs. All those items arrived fine, because your moving team is really good -- best we've experienced. The move-in team was also excellent. Pat Warren is also really great, he kept in touch as he drove cross country and that, again, is something we really appreciated. The only annoying thing that happened was on move-out day, the team arrived with 2 smaller trucks and then wanted to charge for shuttling when we explicitly wanted 1 large truck and no shuttling and that had been agreed in advance. Enter Ben Strong who solved it for us. I was going to wait till we submitted our insurance claim as a couple items got a little damaged but I'll provide feedback on that process later. One thing to consider improving is how to deal with dust entering the truck during transit. The furniture items that were blanket wrapped, that had stands/feet protruding from the blankets , all had a fine red dust coating on the exposed parts. Not a deal breaker but worth thinking about how to prevent. Thank you for a great moving experience!

From start to finish, Steve and Lori followed through on my move to Charlotte. Steve was able to set my move up at the last minute and Lori called and walked me through the entire process.
